16A - What's Your Secret Sauce?

Five ways I have human capital

1.     I’m highly emotional. I don’t necessarily think this is a good thing because I make a lot of decisions based on the way that I feel rather than using logic to find the best solution.
2.     I am extremely stubborn. Once I’ve made up my mind about something there’s really no changing my opinion.
3.     I overthink everything. If I have some problem, I can come up with a million different scenarios in my head about all the possible outcomes.
4.     I speak my mind. I’m not really one to be complicit with other people—if I don’t agree with you I’ll let you know and we can have a discussion about it.

5.     I’m compassionate. If any of my friends or family is going through something I will listen to them all night if they need me to. I think it’s important to be there for one another.

I would say I agreed with everything my friends said. I was surprised at some of the things they noticed in me, like how emotional I am because I thought that was something that only I noticed, but I guess it makes sense that they would notice that type of thing since these are my five closest friends. I think the only difference I saw was that my friends think I’m a lot more intelligent than I think I am—I don’t necessarily think I’m dumb by any means but I think they give me a lot more credit than I deserve. Other than that, I would agree with everything they said. I don’t think I’d change anything on my list because the interviews really confirmed what I had initially put in my list.

  1. It was interesting to see that you listed many negative aspects of your human capital of yourself. It's always good to know your weaknesses, something that I'm not completely familiar with in myself. Having your closest friends notice aspects of your personality that you wouldn't have thought of otherwise is an eye-opening experience. It shows how others may be looking at you. Good job!

  2. I think from how much your friends can say about you and especially see these positive traits really show you more about you than you can see yourself. I think you do a great job at self-reflection as your interviews and your own sauce list played well accordingly. We can only learn from experiences if we can learn to self-reflect from those experiences!
